🕊️ Peace & Blessings 🌻Brothers & Sister In Jesus Christ,
As a fellow follower of Jesus Christ, in a season of reflecting on my own heart posture, a question was revealed to me.
Spiritually speaking, are we doing what we are called to do?
Acknowledging the gift, are we being faithful with it?
Scripture gives us a sense of calibration:
“Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; Who put darkness for light, and light for darkness; Who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!”
Isaiah 5:20
Understanding that God does not remove our free will, are we using what we’ve been given correctly?
There are moments when clarity feels distant, yet we are not without direction. Discernment is already present within us, even when it feels quiet. The ability to recognize what is true does not disappear simply because it is widely challenged or unrecognized.
Are we allowing God to handle what is not ours to carry?
Remembering:
“Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, ‘Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,’ says the Lord.”
Romans 12:19
Not everything that feels heavy is meant to remain in our hands. There is wisdom in release, and there is protection in surrender. When we let go of what was never assigned to us, we preserve the peace of our hearts.
We are not called to fight every battle. In fact, our “fight” is often simply to stand, as we are called to do.
“Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints—”
Ephesians 6:13-18
Standing is not passive. It is endurance shaped by conviction and trust in the Almighty God. It is the steady refusal to be moved when pressure tries to redefine us outside the truth of Jesus Christ.
Standing looks like truth when distortion is easier.
Standing looks like righteousness when compromise is near.
Standing looks like peace when conflict tries to take hold.
Standing looks like faith when uncertainty feels overwhelming.
Again, we are not called to mirror what comes against us.
“Repay no one evil for evil. Have regard for good things in the sight of all men.”
Romans 12:17
“Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.”
Romans 12:21
Once more, I ask this rhetorically.
Spiritually speaking, are we doing what we are called to do?
Our response is never without meaning. It is shaping something within us. Not every moment requires reaction, but every moment reveals direction.
What we practice becomes what we carry, even when it is subtle or unspoken, whether good or otherwise.
Even in intense moments, we are not without choice.
“I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life…”
Deuteronomy 30:19
Choice remains in our hands, even when circumstances feel fixed. Not control over everything, but stewardship over ourselves, our response, and our direction.
“He who is faithful in what is least is faithful also in much; and he who is unjust in what is least is unjust also in much.”
Luke 16:10
“And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve…”
Joshua 24:15
Every day carries a quiet decision, often unspoken but always expressed through how we individually live.
This is not an accusation. It is simply a reminder.
We already recognize when something feels off. We already sense what pulls us out of alignment.
The question is not what is happening around us, but how are we choosing in response?
We are not asked to be perfect, but we are asked to be intentional in our choices.
To stand.
To choose what is good.
To remain steady, even when it is difficult.
And when we do, we are not standing alone, as Christ Jesus is with us.
“What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?”
Romans 8:31
And in light of all of this, we return once more to the heart of the matter.
“The heart is deceitful above all things, And desperately wicked; Who can know it? I, the Lord, search the heart, I test the mind, Even to give every man according to his ways, According to the fruit of his doings.”
Jeremiah 17:9-10
