Ordained Alignment

🕊️ Peace & Blessings 🌻Brothers and Sisters in Jesus Christ,

There are moments in life when a quiet question begins to form within us. Not always spoken out loud, but carried inwardly through thought and reflection:

“What are we missing?”

“Why does it sometimes seem like others are walking in peace while we continue wrestling with the same things?”

“Is there something we are not doing… something we do not yet understand?”

And perhaps beneath all of these questions, we find there is a deeper question that brings everything into focus:

If God desires to bless us, what are we doing in the spirit that keeps us out of alignment with Him?

Imagine, for a moment, two people standing together in conversation. One has come to know freedom through the Word of God, through obedience, correction, and the application of truth. The other is still searching, still asking, still trying to understand why something within their life feels misaligned or incomplete. Yet if we are honest, we have all found ourselves in both places at different times in our walk with Christ.

Now remember the words of Jesus Christ:

“For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.”

Matthew 18:20

Since this is true, even in this simple moment of dialogue, Christ is not absent. He stands in the midst, not physically but spiritually, as the witness of all things.

So then we are left with a sobering and honest reflection. One person feels they have found answers, another feels they are still searching, but Christ Himself is present between us both. And if the answer is found in Him, then the question becomes unavoidable. What is happening within us, within the spirit, that either brings us into alignment with what He has already revealed or keeps us from receiving it?

This is not meant to accuse anyone. It is not spoken to condemn, but to invite us into a quieter place before God, a place of stillness, humility, and honest examination, where we are no longer reacting but listening, where clarity replaces assumption, and where truth is allowed to search the heart rather than us resisting it.

Because before we conclude that God is withholding, or that He has not spoken, or that He has not moved, we must be willing to ask whether there are areas of our own hearts where we have resisted what He has already made clear, since God does not override our free will but instead presents truth to us and invites us to respond to it.

We can hear truth and still delay obedience. We can recognize conviction and still negotiate with it. We can desire blessing while quietly maintaining patterns, attitudes, or influences that do not align with the Word of God. As James 1:22 reminds us, we are to be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving ourselves.

And so again we return to the central question:

If God desires to bless us, what are we doing in the spirit that keeps us out of alignment with Him?

Scripture teaches that truth is what makes us free, but truth is not only something to be heard. It is something to be received and lived. Grace is not given to excuse disobedience, but to empower transformation. As Titus 2:11-12 teaches, the grace of God instructs us to deny ungodliness and worldly lusts and to live soberly, righteously, and godly in this present age. It does not remove accountability, it strengthens our ability to walk in it.

This is why alignment matters. Not because God changes, for He declares in Malachi 3:6 that He does not change, but because we often drift. Scripture also affirms His unchanging nature in Hebrews 13:8, that He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Rather, it is because our attention can become divided. Not because His promises are uncertain, but because our focus can become entangled with other things. Not because He is distant, but because our hearts can become distracted and pulled in other directions. This is a normal part of the human experience, but it must still be acknowledged and addressed. After all, we cannot respond to what God is bringing into alignment in us if we resist acknowledging where we have become misaligned along the way.

When our hearts become misaligned, our vision begins to blur. And when our vision blurs, our discernment often follows.

This is where Scripture warns us about the subtle nature of idolatry, not only in carved images, but in anything that quietly takes the place of God in our priorities, our affections, or our dependence. Even good things, when placed incorrectly, can distort spiritual clarity.

And so we are called to walk in the Spirit and not in the flesh, for the flesh is easily influenced by what is immediate, emotional, and visible, while the Spirit leads us toward what is eternal, steady, and true.

The enemy works toward confusion, but God is not the author of confusion. He establishes order. Where the enemy distorts, God restores. Where the enemy divides, God brings alignment.

Alignment is not about perfection, but about our willingness to be corrected, our willingness to be led, and our willingness to surrender whatever competes with God’s truth.

So the question is not meant to condemn, but to refine us:

What are we doing in the spirit when no one is watching? What have we allowed to remain unchallenged? What have we normalized that God is calling us to surrender?

Because ultimately, each of us will stand before God individually. And the measure will not be comparison to others, but faithfulness to what we were given in truth. We will not stand before God based on comparison, but on how we responded to His truth, His leading, and the conviction He placed within us. And the repeated question is intentional, because it is meant to continually bring us back to honest self-examination before God.

And since Christ is present in the midst of every moment, even now He is not far from us. As Scripture reminds us, “For God is not the author of confusion but of peace” (1 Corinthians 14:33). He is inviting us, not into fear, but into alignment, not into shame, but into clarity, not into condemnation, but into truth that frees the soul.

So instead of only asking for blessing, may we also ask for alignment, so that our hearts would be rightly aligned with God, and that blessing would no longer be something we chase, but something that flows from walking with Him.
