🕊️ Peace & Blessings 🌻 Brothers & Sisters in Jesus Christ,
I pray that we, as followers of Jesus Christ, choose to gently acknowledge and understand that we were all born into the fallen nature of the first Adam. Left to ourselves, our hearts are deceitful, and sin separates us from God.
“The heart is deceitful above all things, And desperately wicked; Who can know it? I, the Lord, search the heart, I test the mind, Even to give every man according to his ways, According to the fruit of his doings.”
Jeremiah 17:9-10
Yet our hope has never rested in ourselves. Where the first Adam brought death, the second Adam, Jesus Christ, brought life.
“For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive.”
1 Corinthians 15:22
By His one sacrifice, Jesus accomplished what none of us could ever accomplish on our own. His name is not merely a label, but the revelation of who He is. Jesus is the Son of God, the eternal Word who became flesh and dwelt among us, and through whom we receive redemption, forgiveness, and everlasting life.
“For by one offering He has perfected forever those who are being sanctified.”
Hebrews 10:14
The significance of His sacrifice can only be fully understood when we understand the One who gave Himself for us. Jesus is not simply a messenger carrying God’s Word; He is the eternal Word made flesh. The One who created all things entered His own creation so that humanity could behold the fullness of God’s revelation through Him.
“And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us.”
John 1:14
Everything was made through Him, and only through Him are we reconciled to the Father. Jesus Himself declared:
“I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”
John 14:6
Truly pause to consider this: God does not take or force our free will, but lovingly calls us to Himself because He desires what is best for us. From the beginning, He has given humanity the ability to choose, not because He is unwilling to save, but because genuine love is received, not compelled. In His mercy, He gave His only begotten Son so that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
Every heart is faced with this eternal decision. To receive Jesus Christ is to receive the One who is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. This choice begins as we respond to His calling, surrendering ourselves to Him and allowing Jesus Christ to renew our hearts and to become the source of our life, identity, and purpose. To reject Him is to remain separated from the very source of life. If we choose Jesus Christ, we choose life itself.
That choice continues each day as we choose to remain in Jesus Christ and feed our spirit with God’s Word. Although we may choose Christ, the enemy seeks to deceive, delay, and confuse us by attacking our understanding, distracting our hearts, and attempting to draw us away from the truth of God. The battle is not against God’s willingness to save, but against the lies that seek to distort our choice and weaken our daily devotion to Him.
Just as our bodies need physical food to live, our souls need the living Word of God to remain strengthened, grounded, and connected to the source of life. Jesus Himself revealed that true life is sustained not only by physical nourishment, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God. Each day, we are invited to choose whom we will follow, what we will believe, and where we will place our trust. Through Jesus Christ, we can continue to walk in the life we have received.
“But He answered and said, ‘It is written, “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.”’”
Matthew 4:4
If we choose to remain in His Word, confusion gradually gives way to truth, and the things that once seemed unclear begin to be brought into the light of God’s wisdom. The world around us may call evil good and good evil, but Scripture warned that a time would come when many would turn away from the truth, seeking teachers who would tell them what their ears want to hear rather than holding fast to sound doctrine. Yet God, in His mercy, has not left us without guidance. He has given us His Word as a lamp for our feet and a light for our path, so that we may walk in His truth even in a world surrounded by deception.
“For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.”
II Timothy 4:3-4
Paul’s words are not just a caution for the future, but a mirror for the present, revealing what happens when truth is ignored and the heart begins to seek what it wants rather than what is right.
If we neglect God’s truth, our hearts become vulnerable to deception, and often without realizing it, we can slowly drift away from the life He desires for us. This is why remaining rooted in His Word is so important, because His truth keeps us established in His presence and aligned with His purpose. But if we choose to abide in His Word and remain in Jesus Christ, we are continually renewed, strengthened, and grounded in the truth that leads to everlasting life.
This is why Scripture places such importance on knowing and remaining in God’s truth. When we reject or neglect the knowledge of God revealed through His Word, we become vulnerable to confusion and deception. But when we seek Him, His truth brings wisdom, understanding, and life.
“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.”
Hosea 4:6
God is not the author of confusion, but the author of truth, peace, and order. Yet at times, our flesh, emotions, and limited understanding can distort what God has already revealed, causing moments where we may struggle to see clearly or experience temporary doubt. This is why it is imperative that we continually choose to return to His Word, because our feelings can shift, but the truth of God remains unchanging. As we abide in Jesus Christ and allow His truth to renew our minds, confusion begins to fade, and we are reminded of the faithfulness of the One who never changes.
He is a God of order, wisdom, and life. The enemy seeks to distort our understanding of identity because he desires humanity to forget the One who created them. Yet our identity was never meant to be defined by the opinions of the world, the lies of the enemy, or the uncertainty of our own feelings. Our true identity is found only in Jesus Christ.
This is why the name of Jesus Christ carries such significance. The world often mocks His name, dismisses or downplays His authority, or attempts to diminish who He is, but we must ask why His name has such a profound response throughout history. The significance of His name is unlike any other because His name reveals the One through whom salvation has come.
Jesus is not merely a name among many. He is the key to understanding who God is, who we are, and the way back to the Father. The very One the world seeks to diminish is the One who sets people free. When we choose Jesus Christ, we are not choosing a burden, but freedom from the bondage of sin, deception, and separation from God.
No other name reveals the truth of God and the hope of salvation as He does.
“And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
John 8:32
Truth does not need to be endlessly debated or forced upon others. Truth stands on its own, and our calling is to faithfully reveal and present the truth of Jesus Christ as He has made Himself known. If we choose to walk with Christ, we are not called to argue endlessly, but to live in a manner worthy of Him, allowing our lives to testify to His goodness.
When His light shines through us, others may see the evidence of His work and be drawn to glorify our Father in heaven.
“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.”
Matthew 5:16
None of us were ever good enough to earn salvation. That is why it is called grace. Salvation is not a reward we achieve through our own efforts, but a gift we receive through the finished work of Jesus Christ. In His love and mercy, God provided what we could never provide for ourselves. Through Jesus, we receive forgiveness, restoration, and the hope of everlasting life, not because of who we are, but because of who He is.
Jesus has already overcome the world. Our role is not to accomplish what He has already finished, but to receive, walk in, and abide in what He freely gives. His peace, His rest, His mercy, and His righteousness are gifts given through His grace.
Finally, let us remember that knowing God’s Word is only the beginning. We are called to live it.
“But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.”
James 1:22
Every one of us will choose whom we believe and whom we will follow. May we continually choose Jesus Christ, the One whose sacrifice restored what was lost and whose love still calls each of us home.
